Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church
Additions, Alterations, and Interiors
Chester Springs, PA
The congregation of this picturesque 19th century Church asked Daley + Jalboot Architects to accommodate their growth while preserving the integrity of their historic Sanctuary. Rotating the church's axis 180 degrees and adding a new narthex to the back of the building increases the seating capacity of the sanctuary, provides the needed additional interior and exterior spaces, and respects the significance of the original structure. A new Fellowship Hall is connected to the narthex by a covered walkway. Future plans call for an Education wing along the west edge of the new raised terrace.
